It feels great to see someone you've known for years working to make her dreams come true. A classmate of mine in Greenville, Mississippi, left the Delta after school to pursue a career as a jazz performer.
Gabbie McGee has amazed audiences all over the world with her soulful voice and songs of strength.
Her "Mississippi's Daughter" takes me back to Greenville and reminds me of struggles so many people go through trying to find a better way.
