Everybody's making it big but me...

While I sit here tonight in my office working on essay questions for my take-home midterm exam in one of my graduate classes, I can't help but think about all the things  besides collective action problems and excludable, rivalrous goods.

One of those many things that crossed my mind is Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show's great song, "Everybody's making it big but me." The great writer, cartoonist, performer and all-around awesome guy Shel Silverstein wrote it.

God bless Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show and Shel Silverstein.

Just for fun, here's another classic written by Shel and performed by Dr. Hook and crew, "Cover of the Rolling Stone."

And for those of you who don't know, this song did get them on the cover of March 29, 1973, issue of "Rolling Stone." Read the background of the story here.

And after all of this fun, time to write what I know about "mechanisms that exist to address collective action..."
